Wildern School Wildern School

Case study | Wildern School | Digital Fluency

Digital fluency is a serious business at Wildern School, with students taking control of improving standards. An Apple Regional Training Centre, Wildern deploys iStudents to neighbouring schools and the wider community (as well as around the school) to advise on the use of technology.

By embracing handheld technologies, staff and students at Wildern school have been investigating the positive effects of emerging technologies and disrupting traditional non-technological approaches to teaching.

Since 2010, Wildern has had an acceptable use policy that embraces mobiles and handheld devices in the classroom and has opened up a whole new avenue of learning approaches.
Staff are as active as the pupils and conduct action research projects into use of new technologies from projects with QR codes through to designing web and mobile apps.
