Seizing the Agenda | 6th Annual Conference, 2015

Day one of the conference explored how schools can thrive, sustain and innovate in order to continue to deliver a ‘whole education’ that supports both academic achievement and develops the skills, qualities and knowledge needed to flourish in life, learning and work, whilst also meeting increasing accountability pressures.

There were thought-provoking keynotes from:
+ Professor Tim Brighouse
+ Sir David Carter
+ Drs Linda Kaser and Judy Halbert
+ Professor Toby Greany

You can find available slide presentations from day one here.

+ Read Sir John Dunford's blog, ‘Every child needs a fully rounded education – it shouldn’t just be the preserve of top independent schools', which reflects on day one of the conference in TES here.

Day two looked at the current debate around the skills, qualities and knowledge young people need upon leaving education in order to succeed in, and contribute to, an ever-changing and increasingly competitive global workforce? The day brought together a diverse audience, from school leaders, individuals from higher and further education, and a range of businesses and industry experts, and we hope acted as a starting point for further collaborations and developments in how we can prepare young people to thrive in the world of tomorrow.

+ Read Lord Jim Knight's blog 'If we want our children to flourish, we must challenge the narrowing, academic curriculum', which considers some of the key themes of day two of the conference in TES here.
