About the speaker

Pete Wharmby is an autistic and ADHD speaker, writer, tutor, and parent, dedicated to improving autism acceptance by sharing insights and lived experiences with a wide audience. He has spoken at numerous conferences and events, frequently as a keynote, covering topics such as autism in education, the experiences of autistic students and teachers, the significance of monotropism and special interests, ADHD, and more. Pete is the author of two acclaimed books on the autistic experience: What I Want to Talk About and Untypical. His third book, focused on autism and education, is set for release in September 2026. As an autistic parent, Pete also brings personal insight into raising a potentially autistic child, enriching both his writing and speaking work.
