Taking Action on Distraction at Primary: neuroscience of attention — Dr Gemma Goldenberg

This session will equip senior leaders with the knowledge and tools to transform how their workforce understands and supports attention. Drawing on the neuroscience underpinning the award winning book Take Action on Distraction, you’ll gain a clear framework for embedding attention-boosting practice at scale, empowering staff to use research-informed approaches that improve learning and behaviour across your school or trust.

Dr Gemma Goldenberg is a psychologist and researcher specialising in early years and primary education. Her PhD examined how indoor and outdoor learning environments affect children’s attention and stress. She is Research Partnerships & Knowledge Exchange Lead at Institute for the Science of Early Years and Youth (ISEY) and co-author of Take Action on Distraction (with Prof Sam Wass).
