Keep it simple: creating space to flourish Claire Holt
Teaching shouldn’t be overwhelming, confusing and exhausting. Keeping it simple and following a ‘less is more’ approach can make a radical difference to everyone’s experience. During this session you will learn one of the 6 principles that form the Teaching from the Heart ethos – a nurturing and nourishing approach to school improvement. Claire started her curriculum consultancy ‘Teaching from the Heart’ to share how things can be done differently within the confines of the National Curriculum. After 30 years in education, Claire is a master at cutting through the noise to get to what is important, enabling you to be more effective and efficient. Grab the opportunity for some time to think and come away with tools to begin simplifying your approach to teaching and leading, giving you, your colleagues and your children the space to flourish.
About the speaker
Claire Holt is the founder of Teaching from the Heart – an independent consultancy that works with schools to put the heart and humanity back into their curriculum. Claire started her career in primary teaching back when there were chalkboards. Since then, she’s held several leadership positions, worked as an inner city LA science advisor, and finally started her own business. Claire loves to empower and inspire others. Her favourite words are autonomy, creativity, simplicity, authenticity, clarity and ease. When not teaching, you’ll find her outside with the trees or inside doing a tree posture whilst reading a book.
