Development of SEND provision and leadership at scale — Simon Tanner and Kelsey Clark-Davis
With 10 years as an experienced SENDCo and 9 as a MAT leader for SEND, Simon has developed effective SEND practice across multiple MATs and lead on SEND and MAT SEND reviews across the country.
Simon Co-chairs the MAT SEND Leaders group which he established with Dr Nicola Crossly (Liberty Trust). The group currently have over 175 MAT leaders of SEND and collaborate with Whole Education. Simon regularly presents at National conferences, is a member for Liberty Academy and sits on an advisory boards for ELKLAN, AQA and TES SEND show. Simon will be talking about effective practices and pitfalls
Kelsey is National Director of Inclusion at Anthem Schools Trust, where she leads on the strategic development of inclusive practice and SEND provision across the trust’s 15 schools. Kelsey has over 30 years’ experience, specialising in working with children and families in both the mainstream and SEMH specialist education sector, as well as Local Authority executive leadership in Inclusion & Safeguarding. Kelsey is a positive, solution focused system leader with a passion for ensuring every child, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or those who have experienced trauma, receives the rigorous support and educational experience they deserve in order to ensure they reach their full potential. Committed to working closely with wider sector leaders to develop sustainable models of inclusion, Kelsey has particular expertise in driving relational approaches, supporting students with SEMH needs and also around developing Inclusion Bases. Kelsey will be talking about making the inclusive vision a reality: the interplay of strategy and culture.
