Secondary Panel Discussion: Addressing our Attendance Crisis — why are people checking out of our schools and what can we do about it?

Join a panel of secondary leaders from the Whole Education network for a dynamic discussion on one of the most pressing issues facing schools today: our attendance crisis.

Why are students, and sometimes even staff, checking out of our schools? What can we do to re-engage them? This session will explore the root causes of disengagement and practical approaches to rebuilding connection and belonging.

Each leader will offer a short insight from their own experience before opening up to a facilitated conversation where you can ask questions, share your own reflections, and engage directly.

This is a chance to connect with peers and gain fresh, practice-informed perspectives on a challenge affecting schools across the country.

Panelists include:

  • Jason Tudor, Director of Secondary Improvement, Excalibur Academies Trust

  • More speakers to be confirmed.
