Local Authority Early Years School Improvement
Whole Education recognises that strong provision in the early years of a child’s educational journey is crucial to their long term success. With Whole Education’s long history of SEND expertise it was a natural progression to develop a programme that is focused on growing the confidence and capabilities of those working with children in the earliest stages of education. The Early Years School Improvement programme for local authorities has seen significant impact in its first year and is now growing to extend beyond early years and bring leaders together around pre school provision, ensuring the first 5 years of life for a child leads to them being equipped and ‘ready’ for school and moving into schools that enable them to thrive through a whole education.
The growing network of leaders within the Early Years School Improvement programme are challenging one another's thinking on key aspects of provision including ‘school readiness’ and transition into and beyond early years, they are starting to bring together health colleagues and those from the private, voluntary and independent sector to work with school provisions and collectively understand and solve challenges facing the system.
The programme embeds sustainable self improving systems into schools across LAs in in a way that is manageable, motivating and ultimately improves outcomes for children in the Early Years to ensure long term success throughout their education.
